Flower Book (Part I)

It's the day after Thanksgiving and I didn't have a stomach ache yet! But on an even lighter note, I am nearing the beginning stages of taking on a new project/ambitious design I haven't done before.
I am going to make a book, from scratch, based around flowers.
Now, for those who are reading this, I did take a class in college called "The Art of the Book" which is basically learning how to make books, stitches, folding techniques, all of that. My teacher is a great book designer and creator, she is also a great photographer, and has her own space at the Stutz building.
I randomly chose 12 flowers (Daisy, Boutonniere, Hibiscus Flower, Crateva Religiosa, Poppy, Christmas Lily, Calla Lily, Orchid, Sunflower, Rose, Lantana and Tulip) and on 6x4" notecards, wrote key notes and information about each flower... on the back has a photo of them.
I found 2 sheets of book binding board that I plan on using (saves me from buying a large quantity of it at Hobby Lobby) and now all I need to purchase are some watercolor papers, bristol paper, some kind of decorative paper that's 18x24" so then I can cut them down to the size of the boards: 6.5x9.5"
And for those who want to see if I actually can make books:
The brown one was done with decorative/textured paper as the cover, inside codex. The bottom book was Japanese stab binding (from the book making class), inside paper is ordinary computer print paper, yellow ribbon, and decorative red paper on the inside panels, and the cover is made by creating paste paper.
Wish me luck!

Flower Power Cont.
This will be short and brief but I did finish my small orange roses. I think the green background suits the orange and blue colors well, instead of leaving it plain white. The majority is different watercolor pencils in actual pigment form i.e., you cannot leave it sitting in water or else it will dissolve but you can continue to draw with it wet.
"Avacado", "parrot green" and "forest green" Prismacolor markers filled in some of the gaps. This might make it to my Society6 as a potential print available for anyone to purchase but we'll see.
Soon, I'll be posting more of my work, some ideas on what I want to do and like I mentioned on Facebook (which I will not link here), I want to create illustrations based around nature, underwater scenes, for children, in a book. It's a great goal to see achieved but first things first is actually organizing myself in order to even begin the process of it.

Flower Power

I didn't think I did but I do!
As far as right now, I am far from being finished, but as you can see, three orange roses with blue stems and design circles around. Wanted to keep the piece realistic so I kept the original color of orange but wanted to work with complementary colors. ORANGE ..... & BLUE! The background will be green fully.
Used: watercolor paper, watercolor pencils, prismacolor pencils, prismacolor/rose art/crayola/art performer markers, micron pens, sharpie pen.
